The Troy-Bilt TB30B is a compact riding mower purpose-built for homeowners with smaller properties or fenced yards where a full-size tractor simply won’t fit. Its standout feature is the 30-inch steel cutting deck, narrow enough to pass through any standard gate 36 inches or wider, making it an ideal solution for backyards that were previously only accessible by push mower. Powered by a 344cc Briggs & Stratton engine with electric start, it delivers reliable performance on lawns up to half an acre, and comes with a mulch plug included right out of the box to help return nutrients back into the soil.
Despite its compact footprint, the TB30B is built to handle real mowing demands. The 6-speed Shift-on-the-Go transmission is operated from a convenient dash panel, letting you adjust your speed on the fly without stopping. With an 18-inch turning radius, it navigates tight corners and landscaping obstacles with ease, and the robotically welded frame with corrosion protection ensures it holds up season after season. The mid-back seat offers a more comfortable ride than many entry-level alternatives, and practical touches like a cup holder and rear tow hitch round out the experience nicely.
At $2,049, the TB30B fills a genuine gap in the market for riders who need a riding mower but lack the space for a traditional full-width tractor. Reviewers with gated or smaller yards consistently praise it for its maneuverability, even cut, and surprisingly capable performance on moderate slopes. It is backed by a 2-year limited warranty covering the frame, front axle, deck shell, and engine. For anyone tired of wrestling a push mower around a compact yard, this machine offers a real upgrade in comfort and efficiency at a sensible price.
