The Murray MT100 is one of the most budget-friendly entry points into the riding mower market, where it is sold exclusively. Backed by over a century of outdoor power equipment heritage, it is powered by a 500cc Briggs & Stratton E Series engine delivering 13.5 HP, which is enough to handle lawns up to 2 acres comfortably. The 42-inch stamped 13-gauge steel deck runs twin blades and offers an impressive 13 cutting height positions controlled by a single lever, giving you more fine-tuned control over your cut than many mowers in this price range. Anti-scalp wheels protect the lawn on uneven terrain, and the Mow-in-Reverse feature lets you keep cutting without stopping to reposition.
Convenience features are well thought out for a mower at this price point. A translucent fuel tank lets you check your fuel level at a glance without guessing, and the built-in Anti-Vibration System in the engine helps smooth out the ride during longer mowing sessions. The adjustable 13-inch padded high-back seat keeps you comfortable, and practical touches like a cup holder, headlights, and a rear hitch rated for towing up to 400 lbs round out a surprisingly capable feature set. The 6-speed manual transmission tops out at 5.5 mph forward, and the 18-inch turning radius makes navigating around trees and landscaping manageable.
At $1,899, the MT100 positions itself as the most affordable option in this lineup, making it a strong consideration for homeowners on a tighter budget who still want a capable, name-brand riding tractor. It is covered by a 2-year limited warranty and is available exclusively at Home Depot, with an optional mulching kit and double bagger sold separately for those who want added versatility from their machine.
